The Stratford Nighthawks Sled Dog Race is held each winter in Stratford NH by the North Country Mushers and Stratford Nighthawks Snowmobile Club. The race was begun in 2004 to help promote good relations between the local snowmobile clubs and mushers.

The entry deadline for the North Stratford sled dog race has been
extended until Tuesday February, 24th. No bib draw this year.
We will assign #'s in order of receipt.
We will also accept entries at the drivers meeting but those persons
will go out at the end of their respective class.
Cross your fingers for snow, lots of it!!!!!!
2009 Recap
The event went off on February 14 & 15th 2009 , as scheduled. Thank you to everyone who participated and gave of your time.
$400 was collected by local sponsors toward the purse. Total Amt Paid Out= $750.00
Hors d'oeuvres at our Friday night drivers/social BYOB cocktail hour were complements of the Blueberry Hill Inn-Cafe and Campground.

Many thanks to Jim and Betty Lalla, Bob O'Hearn, Sue Millman, Richard Cotter, Richard Carey-Block and the ATV volunteers for their assistance coordinating the Bog Road crossing, tunnel, parking lot and with start/finish line timing. The 2009 event would not have gone so smoothly without them!!
Thanks as well to the Youth Group for feeding us all weekend.

All race participants are expected to understand and follow the North Country Mushers Race Rules:
* NO whips, muzzles or full choke chains will be permitted.
* Sleds and other equipment must be in safe working order.
* Sleds must have a sled bag capable of carrying a dog.
* Drivers will be required to carry fire starter and a knife on their person.
* Drivers must have an operating headlamp in their sled bag or on their person.
* Drivers agree to HAVE FUN 
Notice to all drivers: All dogs participating in this event must have a current certificate of rabies inoculation signed by a licensed veterinarian. Dogs must also be current on Distemper. Proof of inoculation, original or Photostat copies, certificates or letter signed by a licensed veterinarian on his business stationary must be available for presented to the race secretary.
